My youngest getting a kiss from Savannah

My Glider Poems

 YOU RESCUED ME
You rescued me, I thank you
I thank you everyday
I thank you when you hold me
And take me out to play
I thank you when you feed me
That great nutritious food
I thank you for your patience
When I’m in a bad mood
I thank you when I look at you
With my big nocturnal eyes
And I thank you at least 1,000 times
My tiny little size
I’m thankful that you loved me
When I came to you in pain
You held my tiny little hand
And gave me shelter from the rain
Thank you for proving to me
That humans can be good
It took so long to trust you
I’m so glad you understood
It’s hard to trust someone
Who’s so many times your size
But I have no doubt you love me
When I look into your eyes
Im so thankful that you love me
The way a glider should be loved
I still don’t know the reason
But I thank the Lord above
I thank the Lord you found me
And gave me a home that’s mine
And I promise I will love you
Until the end of time.
If you ever get discouraged
About the good you do
Remember it was your unselfish love
That helped me make it through
Thank you again for loving me
When I was once  thrown out
And for showing me each and every day
What  real love is all about
You have been a hero
For  many Animals like me
And have helped more than you know
Or will ever see
For every glider you have saved
You’re our hero and so much more
You are the one that we can trust
And the one that we adore

written with love for the Sneakys and all rescuers

Beware of the glider who unlocks his cage
They use their hands in so many ways
Please watch your glider if he's on the floor
They can crawl under, or right out the door
Watch out for kitty's and puppy dogs too
A glider is not a new toy they can chew.
Gliders are curious and oh so much fun
But faster than lightning if they're on the run
Watch out for the toilet please keep the lid down
Cause you dont want your little Sugar to drown
Please check your pouches every day
Loose strings hurt your baby in too many ways
Electrical outlets are dangerous too
And electrial cords your glider might chew
Remember your Suggie has his trust in you
So always be careful whatever you do.

Glider Love
There’s no sound that's quite as neat
As the sound of sugar glider feet.
Savannah is the sweetest thing,
She make my big old heart just sing.
For such a tiny little one.
She is an awful lot of fun.
Now I’m learning Glider speak
Down to her every little “eep”
And then one day before I knew
I was loving glider number two.
I love the way they throw their food
Though you might think it very rude.
This bra pouch makes me look obscene
But my gliders think its kinda keen.
It might look like I have 3 breasts
But my gliders need a place to rest.
They also need to run and play
But keep the daytime sun away.
Redecorate with vines and trees
and glider-proof the bathroom please.
One look around and you can see
These little guys are part of me.
And each and every single day
I love them more in every way.
